E00031 Kester Wax K82D

General information

Kester Wax K82D is the dimer acid ester of very long chain synthetic fatty alcohols. This specialty synthetic wax contains diesters with carbon chain lengths varying from ca C76 to over C116. Remarkable is the combination of a high melting point with plasticity above ca. 55°C, although relatively hard at room temperature.

Applications

Lip balms, lipsticks, antiperspirants, oil gels, mineral wax replacement.

Advantages.

K82D has extraordinary strong gelling properties for vegetable oils. At surprisingly low concentrations it gives beautiful, glossy, silky, slightly transparent gels. Also several silicone oils can be gelled. It can replace mineral waxes in many applications. Increasing wax concentration does not cause brittleness. With this wax, additional viscosity can be achieved independently from ingredients already used.
